Meet Our Crew

Ami Blachowiak
Ami started It’s The Leash I Can Do in 2007 after seeing a need for quality pet care in Los Angeles. She had been producing events and working in the entertainment field for over 20 years. After taking her beloved dog, Willow, to work with her all the time, Ami decided to leave corporate America behind and focus on animals as her full time job. She currently resides with her sister and two senior pups, Pinto and Garbanzo, in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles.
Beth, Ami’s sister, moved to Los Angeles from Milwaukee, WI in 2015. She lives with Ami, where they board dogs at their house. Beth enjoys establishing a rapport with clients and their pets. She loves walking dogs and always has time for a cat visit. In her free time Beth can be found reading a variety of books or writing poetry.
Mara has been with It’s The Leash I Can Do for over 10 years. She is dedicated to the job and always goes the extra mile for the pets! In addition to being dependable and reliable, Mara loves bonding with the client’s pets and making sure they have the best experience possible while their owner is away. When not working, Mara hikes, listens to all types of music and bakes. She is also an avid cyclist. Mara has a 17-year-old cat named Grayson who is quite lazy, but likes sitting next to a sneaker box in the middle of the living room.
Britt and It’s The Leash I Can Do have been together for over eight years. Clients often compliment her on her patience with animals and overall ability to listen and understand their animal’s needs. Originally from the east coast, Britt has called SoCal her home for the last 10 years. When not hanging out with the client’s fuzzy friends, you can find Britt mastering her photography skills, swimming, cycling and hanging out with her amazing pitbull, Ella.
Tali grew up in the Bay Area with a rescued Golden Retriever named Buddy – 100 pounds of pure love and energy. For the last 10 years, she has worked with dogs and cats as a pet-sitter, dog walker, and SPCA volunteer. Big, medium, or small, she loves learning about each animal’s personality and making sure they have the care they need. Tali is honest, responsible, patient, and caring. Outside of pet-sitting, she is a nanny, a tutor, and a coach for her former college rugby team. She looks forward to bringing a smile to your furry friend’s face!
Julian is from Lawrenceville, NJ and has been around pets since before he could walk. He loves the special connection one can have with a pet and enjoys walking dogs to stay active. When he is not walking dogs he works as a musician.
Dustin & Robin
Brothers Dustin and Robin Pence first met Ami 20 years ago, when they were all residing in Milwaukee. Sharing a common love of animals and music, they became fast friends. Dustin and Robin often can be found doing weekend pet sitting for cats and dogs of all kinds. During the week, they run a catering company and manage The Mint Fine Art Gallery in Dana Point, CA.
After relocating from Manhattan, NY Nicolette now calls Los Angeles home. She is a vegan and lover of all animals. Her gentle approach makes her a favorite among clients. When not pet sitting, Nicolette can be found performing as a singer.
